Software updates for the Luna 6225 and 6235 are different than other Luna products due to the system running on an embedded processor and not a separate laptop computer. In order to update the software in your 6225 or 6235, you will need a Luna-provided bootable USB drive with the software update on it. You can request one of these, free of charge, by submitting a support ticket. If you have multiple instruments, the same USB drive can be used to update all instruments.
1) Charge the 62xx unit to 50% or greater battery capacity before beginning the update process. Fully charged is best. The instrument will not perform the update if the battery is less than 50% charged.
2) Make sure you have a Luna-provided 62xx software update USB drive before continuing. Insert the update USB drive into the 62xx.
If the 62xx does not recognize the USB drive, try to connect the USB drive to the 62xx using a powered USB hub.
3) Press the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. Touch the About section of the settings
dialog, and press the Update Now button.
4) Press OK to confirm the software update.
5) The 62xx will shut down and reboot to a blue screen. The update process will take several minutes, and several status messages will be displayed as various steps within the update process are completed.
6) After the message “Software Update Succeeded” appears, press the power button for one second to shut down the instrument. Once shut down, press the power button a second time to restart the 62xx unit.
You can verify that the instrument is running the new version of software by navigating to the About section of the settings dialog. The software version should be newer than what was seen in step 3.
