Can the ODiSI really only measure up to 15,000µE?

The ODiSI is rated to measure across the +/- 15,000 µE range. If you need to exceed that range it is possible with some post processing of the data. Follow these steps:

1. Arm the system and start your data collection.
2. Start straining your test piece.
3. As the max strain point approaches +/- 15,000 pause the loading.
4. Stop data collection and disarm the system.
5. View your sensor(s) and hit the rekey button for each sensor.
6. Arm the system, start data collection and finish your test.
7. During data processing add the last scan of the first data set to every scan in the second data set.

Keep in mind that standard fiber will start to break at about 30,000 µE, so it is not recommended to expand on this process and take a third data set after rekeying a second time.
