It has been reported that the Linux laptop that is supplied with the ODiSI 6xxx or Luna 6415 will sometimes enter a state where it will not boot up properly. Unfortunately, since this happens before the OS boots up, Luna cannot remotely repair the unit. However, this can be quickly fixed by the user.
The problem usually is that the SATA mode in the BIOS gets changed to the wrong setting. Luna has not been able to identify what causes this to happen, so we have not been able to issue guidance on how to avoid this in the future. Here are directions on how to correct this when it occurs:
1. Boot into the BIOS and check the SATA drive mode. To do so, turn on the laptop and keep pressing F2 until the BIOS screen appears.
2. Under "System Configuration", select "SATA Operation".
3. The SATA Operation should be set to AHCI. If this has been switched to RAID or Disabled, then the computer won’t boot. If it is not AHCI, change it to AHCI.
4. Reboot the laptop. It should boot into the Linux operating system.
